This project was implemented by members of the NGO "Northern Cultural Capital" with the support of the CSO Network to support communities with GOHeritage within the framework of the project of the NGO "Private Initiative Development Agency" "Heritage Advocates: Support and promotion of local youth initiative groups", co-financed by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The project aims to combine efforts to preserve and popularize cultural heritage.
The board game “Delicious Chernihiv Region: Heritage for All” is a vivid example of the integration of cultural heritage into a game format for different age groups of the population. The game not only entertains but also teaches, allowing players to immerse themselves in the world of gastronomic traditions of the Chernihiv region. It creates an interactive platform for learning about the culinary traditions of the region.
The project to record recipes of dishes, principles of preparation, and a comprehensive study of the issue of ideas about the gastronomic culture of the northern border of Ukraine was started back in the summer of 2022. The collected and generalized materials allow us to see the changes, innovations, and transformations, what has appeared new, and what has disappeared or is gradually disappearing from use, to trace the process of transformation, etc. This study is important for understanding the evolution of the culinary traditions of the Chernihiv region.
In addition to the educational goal, the project carries a dream after the Victory, in cooperation with restaurateurs of the city of Chernihiv, to develop and introduce traditional local dishes of the Chernihiv region into the menu of catering establishments.
