Eyewitness Accounts of Crimes: How the Emphasis Has Shifted | Prime Evening. Accents

On the eve of St. Nicholas Day, a fresh collection titled “WAR, SCIENCE, and EMOTIONS: From Interview to Memorialization” arrived in Chernihiv. It contains testimonies from eyewitnesses of war crimes in the Chernihiv region, re-recorded from the same individuals who first shared their memories back in 2022.

To what extent have the narratives within these memories—and the memories themselves—changed? Who is conducting this research? Which books preceded this edition, and where are these printed and audio testimonies currently archived? Oleksandr Shevchuk, Head of the Culture and Tourism Department of the Chernihiv City Council, and his deputy, Kateryna Lytvyn, discuss these topics on air.
