Recently, young residents of Chernihiv, whose childhoods have been overshadowed by the loss of a parent in the war, embarked on a journey in search of miracles. The “Time of Miracles” charity initiative gifted the children of fallen heroes an eventful trip to Kyiv, filled with experiments and a festive atmosphere at the VDNG (Expo Center of Ukraine).
The program combined entertainment with education. First, the children visited the fairytale “Land of Elves,” where they learned the secrets of creating glass Christmas ornaments. Each participant had the opportunity to hand-paint a custom bauble with the symbol of the coming year, sparing no glitter or paint in the process.
The next stop was the Science Museum, where exhibits were meant to be touched and explored. The young researchers proved that riding a bicycle with square wheels is possible, learned how to harness sun rays and wind currents to generate energy, and discovered the principles of proper home construction and space organization. Additionally, the children delved into anatomy, physics, and chemistry, easily figuring out scientific “magic tricks.”
The organizers express their sincere gratitude to the patrons who helped create this fairytale for the children, particularly Kateryna Bobrovnyk for the sweet treats. Special thanks go to the carrier, Volodymyr Kovalenko, for providing comfortable logistics and a warm bus, which was essential in the winter weather.
This trip served as proof that even in difficult times, there is always room for miracles, learning, and genuine children’s smiles.
